Is anyone else high risk?
I hear all this talk about midwives and homebirths and you all scare the begeezes out of me! LOL! I am VERY high risk, all my pg's have been that way. History of 2 ectopics, recurrent pg loss this is my 18th pg (20th baby),low progesterone, blood clotting disorder (although so rare they can't figure out which?!), preterm labor starting at 17wks, bedrest, PIH, Pre-E, and I've delivered my living kids at 34wks (1 vag, 3 c/s- this one will be a c/s if we make it that far). I'd love to have someone to talk to that doesn't have normal pregnancies or labors. This baby was unexpected and I'm still in shock about that too!

Re: Is anyone else high risk?
I'm kinda in the middle. I will see a midwife, but deliver at the hospital. I usually start pre-term labor by about 32 weeks (not nearly as early as you) and deliver at 36 weeks. This is my 9th pregnancy (I have 4 living children) and I have low progesterone.
for all you have to deal with, mama! I hope this pregnancy is smooth sailing for you!

Re: Is anyone else high risk?
Your message was on top of the forum and struck out to me. I am going to be insanely high risk when I get pregnant. I have doctors looking at me like I have 9 heads for even trying and today I am going to my peri for a pre-pregnancy consult. I don't think will do my transfer (my children are already conceived) until August but if you need someone to talk to please PM me.
Oh and I have also had 2 classical c-sections so I can't go into labor or even see labor. The farthest I have ever dilated was to 1 cm.

Re: Is anyone else high risk?
I am high risk as well. I have a blood clotting disorder which caused me to have to stillbirths. With my first I didn't know that I had it. Found out after we lost him at 32 weeks. With my living son I was on blood thinners to help prevent clots. It seemed to work since he is here happy and healthy. Then with my daughter I was on blood thinners as well. It didn't help at all. When I lost her at 32 weeks as well my placenta was 30% clots. With this pregnancy I am going to be on a higher dose of blood thinners as if they were treating me for having a clot already. I am really nervous about it since I will have to be extra careful with everything I do. Which isn't always easy with a 19 month old running around. What scares me as well as that is that with my previous losses I was also due in December.

*raises hand*
I am also considered high risk. My last pregnancy (my first) my cervix silently effaced down to 8mm (normal is 4 cm) at 22wks. I had a cerclage put in then had preterm labor and gestational diabetes (and 10wks of bed rest) But delivered a healthy full term bean when all was said and done. This time we will put a cerclage in around 10-14 weeks to hopefully prevent it from happening. So no midwives or home births for me, but I wish I was one of those people that could have one.

Re: Is anyone else high risk?
I am high risk due to AMA (advanced maternal age), I am 41 and due to a history of chemical pregnancies.

Re: Is anyone else high risk?
I'm high risk too! I'm extra-fluffy and have a blood disorder (Factor V) that I'm on daily injections of anti-coagulants for. This is my first preganancy ever so I'm super excited, but worried at the same time. It took us almost a year to conceive and the thought of a loss is something I can't even bear to think about.
