You can get lots of info about the whole organization at www.girlscouts.org ETA: grace before a meal at camp was usually either just a moment of slience or "God is Great, God is Good, we thank you for this food" and that was it. And no one was ever forced to say it. I actually never said it.

Girl scouts/girl guides, are they the same thing? ...I was one and it was not religious at all.
I don't know if they have Sparks in your area, but here in Canada for girls 5-6 they have sparks first...

so...Sparks (ages 5-6)
Brownies (ages 7-8)
Guides (ages 9-11)
Pathfinders (age 12-14)
Rangers (ages 15-17)
Adults (ages 18+)

Yes, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts are both part of the Worldwide Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

DD has been in GS for 2 years and in 2 different troops. The only thing "Christian" is the pledge ..."to serve God and my Country and live by the Girl Scout law..." other than that there is no mention of anything about any faith. Funny I've never heard that GS has anything to do with Christianity at all.
