Wow, I've ever even thought of that. DD has never tried to flush anything down. It's hard to get her to flush down her own poop. The problem. Have is that she wants to close the door. The litter boxes are in the bathroom so we need that door open. The other thing is she refuses to use the big potty at home. She's fine everywhere else but at home she wants to use the little potty so she can inspect what she has done. So now I make her hose it out herself with the diaper sprayer because cleaning the potty sets off my morning sickness.

My DS has been using the big potty for about a year and I don't recall him putting/flushing anything besides the normal "stuff."

Re: Kids and Toilets

So far I have a 4 year old and 2.5 year old using the toilet and luckily neither have flushed anything down there (other than excessive toilet paper).

Our daughter (3.5 years) has never tried to flush anything. Hopefully our son never tries! My friend, however, took her daughter to a department store (where they had those high-power toilets in the bathrooms) one day and her daughter managed to grab my friend's car keys and flush them! So, obviously they couldn't go home. Her sister had to come get her.

We've been very, very lucky with DS1. He's never flushed or otherwise destroyed anything.
We haven't really allowed him access to the bathroom though. He's just now potty training at 3, and he's too short to go #2 on the toilet so he's using the little potty pretty much exclusively.
