Emily, to further your peace of mind, may I suggest that you lay out a single mattress on the floor skirting her bed, so that even if she falls, she doesnt ....assuming you have single.

Alternately, a couple of futon cushions? Yes, you'll have to lug them around every time she sleeps, but that's peace of mind for those moments when you are not around to monitor. Because lets face it, kids are capable of split-second decisions!
