What stitch length with blind elastic?

What stitch length do you use when sewing blind elastic with a regular zig-zag? In a fairly thick fitted...

I can't give you a stitch length b/c even just my two machines require different numbers but you want a 5 step zig zag that's pretty wide and long, if it's too tight it stops the elastic from stretching evenly and nicely

I usually just do my 3 step zig zag at the longest setting..it's really long!

right, it might be 3 step on mine too, not even sure I have a 5 step sorry mama!

On my machine the icon for the 3 step looks like a wide zig zag, it does 3 stitches to the left, then 3 to the right...so to my brain it actually seems more like a 6 step zig zag lol. I'm not sure what a 5 step zig zag is, unless it's the type with a 3 step that also puts to straight lines on the right hand side, similar looking to an overlock stitch.
