My Mood:

I just saw this mentioned on another thread to get out stink. I'm having some stink issues with my AIO's after DS wets them. Not ammonia stink (except for the night dipe) but just a stinky stink.

So I ran over to (hehe, my exercise for the day) and bought some Bac-Out. Do I just spray it on full strength to each dipe or add it to the laundry. If I am adding to the laundry, how much for a HE FL?

Also going to look for RLR at WalMart but I'm not holding out hope. My Super Wal-Mart is not a big one...

Re: Bac-Out

I spray 50% diluted bac-out on dirty dipes. The first time I used it, I also soaked anything that was having stink problems in a bucket of hot water with bac-out for an hour. About 1 C to 1.5 gal of water, if I remember right (that might have been a bit stronger than was necessary). Then I washed in sportwash (if yours only stink after being wet in, the sportwash probably isn't necessary) and rinsed many times. This was just to get rid of the stink. Once i got rid of it, I just spray and wash as usual, with an occasional small squirt of bac-out, if I happen to feel like it, no more stinkies.

Re: Bac-Out

If the dipe smells after DS pees, then it's more likely to be detergent build-up, which Bac-Out can't get rid of. If it's stinky with a poo smell right out of the wash and you know DS pooped in that diaper, then it's a problem that Bac-Out can help you with.

I wash like I normally do when using BC, but I just use a good-sized squirt straight from the bottle into my cold soak. So, cold soak with BC, then whatever your wash routine is. If it is detergent build-up though, then stripping would be the way to go. I love BC out, though...gets rid of the poo stinkies and stains!
