my only advice would be not too buy a whole stash of one type of diaper right away. You might end up not liking them as much as you thought you would.

Good advice... I would say not to spend much in accessories... I bought a snappi, boingos, Booty Luster, ect. I haven't even used the fasteners and found that prefolds are not really my thing.

This times 1000. Even if you do like something at first, try to wait a couple weeks to make sure it continues to work well for you!

Try lots of different kinds of dipes. Don't buy too many of one kind and don't listen to any nay Sayers.

Re: New to CD, best advice?

Some stores offer trial packs like this one, so you can find what works for your family.

The most economical way to cd is to buy a couple of good covers (like Bummis, or Thirsties) and a package of 100% COTTON flats (available at most Wal-Mart & Babies R Us stores). You can have an entire stash for <$40.

This may seem counterproductive since you want to cd "for cheap", but stay away from cheap diapers. I don't mean stay away from economical diapers, just don't be lured in to buying an entire stash of $5 diapers right away.

To avoid spending too much money, stay away from Diaper swappers! We're all a bunch of fluff enablers on here, lol.

Yes, and babies shape/needs change over time so a variety is good.
