TTC- After Mirena
Does anyone on here have any experiences with this? I got mine removed about 5 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a cycle. We have been TCC since it was removed and I have taken a pregnancy test about two weeks ago, but it was a BFN. It was probably to early to test anyway though. TIA for any stories shared

Re: TTC- After Mirena
I had mirena for 4 years, it took a few months for my cycle to regulate again (I didnt have one during the 4 years the IUD was in place) Once my cycle returned and normalized we were able to concieve 3 times but the beans just wouldnt stick. Finally we concieved and the bean stuck 18 months after having it removed. It was a struggle for me. This was my 3rd child, no previous problems concieving or carrying a baby so I blame the IUD totally. I wish you better luck than I had, I do have a sweet baby now but it was alot of trying and heartache before I was blessed w/him.

I had Mirena for 3.5 years during which I never experienced a period. It was removed a couple days later had some spotting (removal/hormone adjusting?) and I waited for a period. Finally 33 days later I took a test since no period still and it was positive. Date of conception ended up being 18 days after removal according to dating ultrasound. My dd is now 3 months

Re: TTC- After Mirena
Thanks. Its been 28 days(? I haven't counted it for sure yet, but that an approximate days) I had lite spotting a week after it got removed and again 2 days ago. It was only there once when I wiped ( sorry if thats too much info) I going to give a the rest of this week and take another pregnancy test sometime next week.

Took me 6 weeks for AF to return. Then another 6 months for it to get regulated to normal - It was 5 weeks, then 3 weeks, etc. Good luck!

Thank you. I have been looking around on the internet and it seems 5-6weeks is a normal time range before AF gets back to normal. Just gotta give it time I guess. Its just so weird for me because before I got Mirena I had a perfect every 28 days cycle, but didn't have any when I got the Mirena. |

Re: TTC- After Mirena
The first time I had the Mirena removed (after having it for 3yrs), it took about a month for everything to regulate, and it took 2-3 cycles of actively TTC to get pregnant with DD. This time, I had it removed in Feb. (after only 1yr in), and my cycles returned to normal in about a month. This time, we're more NTNP than actively TTC, so we'll see what happens...

Re: TTC- After Mirena
I had my first one out after having it in just over a year - and I didn't have periods while on it. From what I recall, my cycle went pretty much right back to normal after it was out and we got pregnant with DS on the 4th month after it was out. (Removed January 14th, DTD May 10th that caught the egg!)
I just removed my second mirena on Tuesday. We'll be TTC as soon as my cycle is back. I just had a little brown spotting this evening so I'm hoping it'll turn into something more tomorrow. I want one cycle before we try so that the lining has a chance to get thicker. I'm nervous reading all these stories of it taking a long time though because we're giving ourselves until the end of 2012 and if I'm not pg by then, we're going to stop trying. So... 6 months is all we've got!

Good luck to you mama!
I was going to wait till next week to take a test, but I have no will power so I tested last night. It was a BFP before I was even done peeing! Went and got a blood test done today and am waiting on the results. Thank you so much to everyone who shared their stories. I am worried though about the lining being thin because I never got a period after getting it removed last month. |

Re: TTC- After Mirena
I had my first one put in Oct '06 removed it in April '08 (no period the entire time) and conceived our LO approx 3.5 weeks later.
Had it put in again in March '09, removed it Aug 27th '11 (no period the entire time again) and conceived October 13th '11. I consider ourselves to be lucky to have conceived so quickly and to have them stick.
