these are one of my DH's favorite pairs. He puts them on the little guy about 1/2 of the times he gets him dressed. they are great b/c the colorway hides the dirt & this boy LOVES the mud!

it's actually not too bad. interlock goes in the washer & hand knit is handwashed, but only when it is really dirty. out grown, too big, & off season live in a ceder chest that has been in my family for over 100yrs

wool is a necessity for us b/c DS can not wear almost all synthetic fibers & it allergic to PUL. we also live somewhere where it is pretty cold most of the year, so cotton pants just don't cut it for warmth. & well we love wool

I didn't know interlock could be thrown in the washing machine! I wouldn't have gave up on wool if I knew that

I definitly prefer woolies for comfort and warmth but, the constant NB poop getting on them was frusterating for me.

I've always used fitteds under his woolies so this really wasn't an issue. I think in his 17.5m we've had maybe a doz poop on woolies incidents
