Re: May we all be blessed with children this month - let's chat about it...
Picked up a newborn baby boy on Monday. Court was yesterday and I didn't get a call that he was leaving so I guess he may stick awhile. His case is pretty serious, first one that I have had that makes me a little nervous. So right now I have a 6 week old girl and a 10 day old boy. Since I am taking a break from the medical complex cases, they are giving me newborns with exposure and I have even turned one down. Trying to figure out if I could juggle three if they call again since right now there are a lot of these type of removals for whatever reason.

Two tiny newborns!? Sounds very sweet but lots of work
Who am I kidding, I would take twin babies, if I was asked.

I know opinions on here vary as far as adoption fundraising goes, but I had a mom who owns an online store offer to create a link with some of my favorite products on it and gift me all the proceeds she makes off of items bought through that link. So if you are in the market for something, or wouldn't mind passing along this info via Facebook or wherever, we would be grateful!

Wow Daylynn I keep wondering if I can handle my newborn and a placement. I keep leaning towards no....but my heart wants to find a way it can work. I think the actual care for the child would be fine, it's the therapy visits, visitation and CPS/Agency visits that just add so much to our lives.
Luvsviola - Congrats on court, I hope you get all the paperwork done as easily as possible and get granted all the financial support you can for that precious little one! Finding Mercy - Good luck on your fundraiser!

Dalynn, wow. Baby #19? When did #17 and #18 happen? It really seems to go in spurts with my county. Been empty almost three weeks now and no calls. Last time my second left and I got another call two days later. I feel like they may be wanting to place the exposure newborns with me now so I'm hoping they're not saving me for that as I wouldn't mind an older baby or toddler for a change!

One was a 11 mth old girl with and NG tube who went to Grandma after court next day. Hospital just needed to go ahead and release her. The other was a 2.5 year old boy who was actually in foster care in another county but ended up in our county and they needed a bed overnight. I live in the Indianapolis area and things are just crazy busy right now here. One day last week our county had 35 removals ... this is what they usually have a week. I almost never say no to 1-3 nighters that is why I can dream of fostering 50-100 kids in the next few years.
