Tell me about Wovens

I want to try a woven wrap, but have NO IDEA where to start. They seem expensive, is there a "cheaper" one to start with? How does one choose a length? TIA!

Re: Tell me about Wovens

There are definitely a few brands out there that are more affordable!

Colimacon et Cie are under $100 and are supposed to be very nice wraps for babies of all ages.

Walter's Organic wraps are dirt cheap for wovens, and supposed to be very supportive, but I've heard they take a while to get soft.

Lenny Lamb wraps are also a less expensive wrap and supposed to be incredibly soft and supportive, but I don't know of any US retailers that have them in stock right now.

As far as sizing- it depends on the carries you want to do. An avg sized woman should be able to do everything in a size 6 (4.6m), if you're plus sized or very slender then you'd size up to a size 7 (5.2m) or down to a size 5 (4.2m)
If you're wanting a wrap mostly for back carries you may want to start off with a shorter size as well. Check out the chart here for more info

Woven wraps are awesome and you will want all of them!

J/K (sort of). I agree with the above. Girasol can also be on the cheaper side, especially at The Blueberry Tree.
