Fuzzibunz One Size Elites Leaking at Legs
Hey Eveyone,
I had a questions for the moms that use Fuzzibunz One Size Elite diapers. We have been cloth diapering for almost a month now and I love it and I love my Fuzzibunz. I have noticed though that there is some pee leaking around her legs (at least once a day), but the minky insert doesn't seem to be soaked. There also doesn't seem to be a repelling issue so I'm not sure what to do. I sized them up one notch but then the diaper didn't even seem fitted in the crotch area and was barely touch her legs. Should I have made them smaller? They already seemed pretty snug and fitted her well before hand. Thanks! |

Is her clothes getting caught in the legs? I don't use the elites because they were too narrow in the crotch and this always happened or the poop escaped. I much prefer the perfect size.

I don't think her clothes are getting caught but then again she is crawling and walking everywhere. It happens though with all types of cloths, onesies, pants, shorts, scooter skirts. I haven't had any poop escape so that is good. What inserts do you use in your diapers?

In the elites, only the the inserts which came with it would fit (another reason I didn't like them, and they were so hard to stuff). In everything else I use flats.

Re: Fuzzibunz One Size Elites Leaking at Legs
The FB one size worked well for us for a while but once my daughter started sitting up we got leaks. I think it was some kind of compression issue, if that makes sense. The insert would be wet too, but not soaked. Once she started walking and was sitting less I could use them again, but not for very long. Sorry, that's probably not helpful. I would try tightening the legs up as much as you can without leaving red marks. I hope they work better for you than they did for us

The same thing was happening with my BG's when I used just the microfiber insert, and it was suggested that I use a hemp doubler to avoid the compression issues and that has worked much better. It still happens sometimes, but not nearly as bad.

Same thing happened here...not once a day but with every pee. I started using small thirsties hemp inserts and they last up to 4 hours! Turns out you can get buildup on the minky from the very first washing! Try stripping yours with Dawn. I can now use the minky without leaking but they don't last for long naps!

Re: Fuzzibunz One Size Elites Leaking at Legs
Are you adjusting the leg elastic properly? You have to adjust it in the front AND the back of the leg opening... Open the pocket all the way (almost turn the diaper inside out) and you'll see you can adjust the elastic in the front of the leg opening as well as the back with their numbering system...
I had no idea about adjusting the front of the leg elastic until I saw a post a while back. Hope this helps

Re: Fuzzibunz One Size Elites Leaking at Legs
I've been having the same problem - I have to loosen up the leg elastic to get the proper rise, but then the legs are loose. I just snap the leg snaps in as much as I can and make sure to change her quickly after a pee. I'm sure hemp would help, but I am hoping that DD will be out of her diapers any day now with PL, so I am sticking with it.
Oh, and three times now she's peed while sitting, and the urine comes straight out of the diaper without even wetting the insert. I think the crotch is just too narrow and gaps too much on my 2-year old when she's in that position. Again, another encouragement for me to buckle down on the PL. |
