I agree on the swing! It was such a life saver with my last two. And if you buy used from a yard sale or something like that you wont spend much on one. We have and love our Fisher Price. It has the plug in adapter which saves us so much money since we don't have to buy batteries.

Re: Anyone making a list yet?
we need a new car seat and i'll buy a used swing but that's about it for gear. we'll need some clothes though because all my other kids were born in summer and i might have the occasional long-sleeved onesie but certainly not a full wardrobe, especially not for a boy if that's what we end up having. plus, we're giving up the woolies for the most part so we'll need normal clothes...lol...

Well, the infant car seat we had for ds was secondhand from a family friend we trusted, but it expired last month, and with what I've heard about the exp date relating to the strength of the plastic in the unit after experiencing severe heat/cold in cars, I am definitely thinking we need a new one. We had two bases, but I haven't checked those for dates yet. I'm assuming they're made from the same formula as the plastic in the actual seat, though?
Bassinet, maybe. I passed along the one we used for ds because it just didn't fit together well / work well for us. Ds' crib converts to a toddler bed, and he'll be ~22mo when this one comes along, so I'm thinking he'll just stay there. I've been toying with the idea of an Arm's Reach cosleeping bassinet, for ease of nursing, but we do have an unopened Pack-n-Play with a bassinet attachment that was given to us when we had ds. It takes up more space, but might make more financial sense to just use that. Has anyone here had success using their PnP as an actual crib after the bassinet stage? I'm not sure what age they usually transition from crib to bed, so... maybe by the time #2 is ready for a crib, #1 will be ready for a bed and we should just get an additional toddler bed and leave the crib set up as is. Thoughts, anyone? If you have an older LO, when did yours transition to a bed from the crib? Otherwise... no clothes, really. We didn't find out with ds, so everything through 3-6mo size is fairlyGN, and by the time #2 hits six months, it'll be garage sale season, so if I have a girl, I'll just hit up those. If I have a boy, well, we're all set! ![]() High chair we still have.. infant swing and jumper we still have... bottles for travel... heck, I've even got a bottle warmer that we never used, lqtm. Maybe a couple more swaddling blankets.. and some more long-sleeve newborn shirts, because even though ds was born in March, most of his NB stuff is short-sleeve. But that won't be much. And new nursing bras. But that's for me. Not the LO. Obviously. The two I've had for ds are getting pretty shot through... and I should prolly just bite the bullet and sell the purdy new 34A's I got right before we got married. I was pg within one cycle, and they haven't fit since. Who knows when I'll fit 'em again, if I ever return to that size? ![]() Now I'm just babbling... Sent using the DS Forum Android app

Re: Anyone making a list yet?
We are set except for clothes if the baby is a boy since DD2 was born in January so her clothes will be ok for the newbie unless they are a big baby since DD2 was a little thing at 6 lbs 12 oz, and I would love a plug in swing this time around for our main floor since we are moving to a two story house this month and I dont want to take it up and down the stairs.
ETA: and newborn fluff of course- prefolds and covers and maybe a few GMD workhorse fitteds for night time.

Re: Anyone making a list yet?
oh yeah, i forgot that we will need some more bottles probably and i would like to get some more lact-aid systems (i nurse but have to supplement, usually at the breast with the lact-aid but sometimes with a bottle). and we'll eventually need a new highchair i think. ours is like 13 years old and the plastic was so cracked i made a new cover for it from a vinyl tablecloth but i didn't do a very good job and i would really just prefer a new one. my friend has a gorgeous bassinet that she has let us borrow but she is moving in aug and i can't afford to buy it from her and i don't feel comfortable just asking for it when i know she can get good money for it.

Re: Anyone making a list yet?
we need nothing if its a boy (except baby wash and toiletries) but if its a girl I need clothes, tights, pink padded pack n play sheets, girly stuff (hair bows, pink binkies, etc).
We already have all the gear. My babies sleep in pack n plays and we already have 2 that have the bassinet feature.
