Saying "I Love You" regularly?

Oh, my daughter doesn't know the word hate yet. Isn't that great? She has a vocabulary of thousands of words but hate isn't in there, that I know of. I found it in a book of hers (can't remember which one) and I don't say it when I read that book. So until she knows it, she can't say it. Maybe try that. Just don't let him know that word.

I don't think it is that normal for kids, especially young kids to say it that often. My kids don't and I tell them about a thousand times a day/each. Sometimes the older girls will say it back, but not often. APparently I say it too much since one time I said it to Dd1 and she said "I know mom, you only tell me about a bazillion times a day."

This is my thinking too. My son is going to say the same thing. I have worked so hard for over 2 years to get my son to run around and say "my mama loves me" - I told the speech pathologist that was her primary goal. I think my son has tried to say it, especially at night in bed but its just not coming out. I'm wondering like the pp as we get lots of "hi" now. Instead of pushing "I love you" what entertains us is I say "How much does the Mama love you?" and I get "so much) - we do it for other people too. (and you guy think of me as .....I figure with one I'm allowed to be over the top). My son will run around the house or lay in bed to get our attention saying "so much."
