Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
dd had hers done when she was 3 months old. We never had any problems no infections or her pulling at them. She is almost 2 now. I'm not sure when we will do the next baby it was kind of a lets do it on a whim thing with dd

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
You don't have a option for me, we won't pierce until she is about 14 or so.

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
My daughter had hers done at 18 mos and it was a nightmare - she pulled at them, wouldn't let me clean them - eventually we took them out and they healed over. She just had them re-pierced a few months ago, she was 6 1/2.
With that being said, if we were to have another girl, I would probably have them pierced as a baby. Of course this is just hypothetical, as it's something DH and I have never talked about, and if he were opposed to it, then I'd have no problem waiting longer.

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
I feel pretty strongly about this (for me personally - I have no problems wth others choosing to do it differently) - it isn't my body and I won't make the decision to alter it for a cosmetic reason. When she is old enough to ask for it, understand the decision, and at least help take care of it, then I will be happy to let her. Same goes for my son.

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
We just did it for Christmas at age 6 1/2 because she'd been asking a really long time. The 2 1/2 year old does NOT have hers done.

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
I voted 6 or older. I want to make it something fun and special. I want her to come to me and want it and I also want her old enough to take care of them herself. I remember getting my ears pierced and how much fun it was, I would like her to have a similar experience

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
We had DDs done at 7 weeks and she's never messed with them or had any problems at all.

Re: Are your child's ears pierced?
My dd begged at 2 and begged and begged..so we knew she wanted to do it..she's the type to ask for lots but will only keep it up for something she really wants.
She was super never even flinched and she loves having them done..she's a very girly girl.We told her it may hurt and she was fine with that..she's as tough as nails when it comes to pain. She has seldom lost an earring and the one she did it was my fault..those screw back earrings just don't come out easily. Now,she only wears 14K gold since no one on my side can wear anything else I don't want to chance it with her and gettting sore ears. We would never do them until it is thier decision and the boys will have to be 18 and out of the house...the little lady gets no more as well...one set and thats non negotiable...
