Re: do toddlers scream for no reason?

Is her sleep pattern any different? Does she wake up more at night? When my DD had an ear infection she wouldn't sleep well (woke up more often, didn't want to take a nap), b/c the pressure is worse when lying down. OH, and she didn't have a fever, that's what took me so long to take her to the doctor.

Re: do toddlers scream for no reason?

I am sorry that she doesn't seem to be feeling well. Miles has been cranky for the past few weeks and granted he did have a cold for a few of those days. Would you believe that about 2 weeks into the whole ordeal I realized that his back molars had almost completely popped through!? I couldn't believe that I had missed it but I had.

I hope she feels better soon.

She's sleeping great, no problems there.

Maybe she's decided screaming and crying is more fun than talking

Yes, toddler scream for many, many unknown reasons. Tempertantrums stink!

However, in my house, the only time one of my LO would scream while in my arms was because they were sick, or just "telling" me how mean Daddy was for saying no

Other than having tantrums dd would scream crazily if she ate something with food dye. All though we didn't know why she was doing it at the time. But there can be many reasons for screaming.

Seriously? How did you link the food dye w/ the tantrums? Did you have to keep a food dairy or something? Really - I'm curious... not being patronizing or anything.

IDK how you might feel about this, but sometimes if I can't figure out what's wrong w/ DD, I troubleshoot....

Clean diaper? check

Teething? Apply baby ambisol (sp?) and/or give cold chew toy/frozen food to see if that stops the fussies. If DD stops crying when I give her frozen berries, I know it's teeth.

If I really can't figure it out, I just give her tylenol If she stops fussing about 20 min after I give it to her, and starts up again in 3-4 hours, I know something's hurting her (ear infection, maybe, or headache...)

Re: do toddlers scream for no reason?

My kids use to and still does do that. I have found that if the diaper is dry, the tummy is full, and there is nothing wrong with them, then I can walk out of the room for my sanity. They end up finding something fun to do and stopping on their own. Toddlers just like to hear their own voices I think sometimes, since they cry and whine when there is nothing wrong. LOL!

I have 2 friends with sons this way and my youngest has been too. I always said that my youngest was the most depressed baby I'd ever seen.
