Help with acid reflux

My tips for how to help/ sooth baby with reflux? My ped. Just told me that's why my 3 month old is always crying after meals. He's going to take medicine for it... What else can I do?

My daighter had reflux from birth until 2 months and I found nursing in an upright position (so laying with her belly on mine) and then keeping her upright on my chest or in the wrap for about 30 min after nursing really helped. They do out grow it, but usually around 3 months or so. You may want to consider if it is something in your diet....although this can be a pain staking process trying to figure out what it would be

Both of my babies had reflux since birth but we were able to correct it completely with a change of diet.

I was able to correct older DS' reflux with an elimination diet that showed he was sensitive to dairy, eggs and tomatoes. I am now needing to do the same with my 8 week old as he seems to have reflux as well. It would be worth a try and you may not need meds then!

Wow really? I know he has a allergy to dairy. So I cut out milk and yogurt. Cheese doesn't seem to bother him. I wondered if he really has reflux because even after he's been on meds for almost two weeks he still has his "episodes" where he screams and screams and want to be bounced and walked around. He spits up a lot too, but more so when I have dairy.. He makes my head hurt trying to figure this out!!!!!

If he has a dairy allergy, chances are he has a soy allergy too...I would cut out both. My DD is allergic to both. While it doesn't effect her reflux a whole lot, she gets other very obvious signs (breaks out in a spotty itchy rash, rubs eyes vigorously, butt gets a rash so bad the skin peals off) very soon after I eat either.

for the reflux, we do nursing upright..however she also takes Zantac. Also smaller more frequent feedings help

I cut out dairy too!!! And later soy. What a happy baby afterwards. And it helped me loose the baby weight!!!!

I am vegan now. LOL!!!

let baby sleep with a small wedge under the mattress of the bed on one end...in other words baby is never put down flat unless placed on floor...keep baby at a slight angle for at least 30 mins after each meal...burp often...

Was coming here for this too! So ill add what I've learned so far. A gf recommend colic calm, she used it for her reflux/dairy allergy baby with good results. I've also read a probiotic can help, I started my 4 mo DS on one this week we'll see. Wondering if anyone has heard of immunolabs bloodprint? I guess you test your blood for food allergies and then eliminate those and it can help baby too? Also I've read some babies can be sensitive to all dairy products including the hidden dairy in processed foods. I came accross a list of other names for dairy but Nak right now.
