My husband goes back to work Monday after having his newborn leave. Levi is 2 weeks old. I breastfeed and pump.
I really wanted to have a date night tonight. I wanted to do a movie.
We find it very important to live our life- God, Spouse, kids. We have always tried since Asher was born to do one date night minus the baby once a month.
I planned a date tonight. Got my parents to watch both boys. Pumped to have food for the baby. I thought tonight we'd even try DTD. I wanted to make it semi-special. Ugh. Now he doesn't wanna go. For some reason it makes me super sad. Like I keep tearing up. So silly right? Completely irrational.
I was looking forward to "rewarding" him for being so sweet and kind and helpful to me.

It's not silly or irrational.

You wanted to have some time alone with your DH and he backed out - it's frustrating.

I haven't seen DP for almost a week solid because he traveled out to Ohio to see some friends and I've been really emotional & unreasonable about the fact that I couldn't go with him. It's silly, and I feel selfish, but I kinda threw a real tantrum when I realized that I couldn't go with him & I would just have to wait to see him when he comes back home.

I hope you get the chance to have a date night soon. I'm sorry DH backed out this time!

He works 12 hour shifts. So after having him home for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden gone.. I am gonna miss him sooooooooooo much, and he doesn't seem to care.
His reasoning to hard to pack the 2 boys stuff and take them to my parents, which is literally 10 minutes away.

Doesn't he have some vacation time coming up? Maybe you can plan something for then. He might not be ready to have someone else watch the baby yet, even if it is family.

Yep, he works 1 week-Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Then is off for 2 more weeks. We can totally do a date night then but I'm still sad about tonight.

I'd be sad too

I think I'd put DH on baby duty and then go lock myself in the bathroom for a nice bubble bath with candles and a book.
