Refusing to nurse on one side
Dd was fine during the night nursing on both sides no problem. This morning after we got up and she started to get fussy I tried to feed her and she just cried harder. I got up and walked her around a bit, she has reflux so some times she will cry when she's hurting and we just need to keep her upright for a bit, she fell asleep and napped for about an hour. When she woke up I tried again and she started to cry so I put her on the other side and she was fine. The next time she was ready to eat I went for the third try on the right side and again she cried until I used a different hold, keeping her on her right side and she finally nursed but not for all that long. I have no idea why she is doing this since she was eating from that side just earlier this morning (around 5 am) she was fine.

Re: Refusing to nurse on one side
Ear infections commonly cause this response. Good luck figuring it out.

Re: Refusing to nurse on one side
I'd just keep trying like you are. My girls have both went through preferring one side over the other because the milk comes out much faster from one. Since they get more milk from the one side it also produces more milk and if I'm not careful to always start with the slower one the supply difference gets drastic fast. Then they get frustrated quickly or refuse to nurse from it at all. So, if it feels like the side she is refusing has less milk just try to build that one back up (by always starting with it especially at night when she will be more likely not to care) and see if that corrects things.

Re: Refusing to nurse on one side
I would just keep putting her to that side as well, but you could also look into taking her to a family chiropractor. I know DS2 got to where he didn't want to nurse but one side as well and would fight/fuss if you tried to put him to the other side. At one of our next chiro visits, she immediately asked if he preferred a side and when I said yes, she told me which one due to a subluxation. All he needed was a little adjustment and he was back to nursing both sides.
