Fall Asleep

T doesn't matter the time of day that I nurse- but I doze on and off. After I am done nursing I'm a little tired but seriously can not keep my eyes open the rest of nursing!! Anyone else?

It's because it relaxes you. I used to fall asleep all the time during breastfeeding (side laying position so I would t drop the baby!) and even now I get sleepy afterward.

There is a hormone released in both Mama and baby that makes them tired. I'm pretty sure it's CCK for short. It's a big long C word.

Happens to me all the time. During the day I just get really run down feeling after nursing. At night I usually fall asleep while nursing. But we cosleep and I do side-lying position at night so we usually just go right back to sleep together. Although now that we are starting to transition DD out of our bed more and trying to get her to STTN, it is getting harder and I have to make myself stay awake if I do a nighttime feeding so I can move her back to the crib.

I look forward to this feeling some days. Nothing better than falling asleep while nursing and taking a nice long afternoon nap with DD

If only DS would want to nap when DD does so I could nurse her to sleep and nap myself.

It was horrible for me at the beginning, but now at 9 months it's not as bad.
