Whats your goal?

For moral reasons, I can't give her dairy formula, and I am so uncomfortable with soy formula, so my goal is to BF until she's okay being off milk. Once I passed the 3-4 month hump it was so much easier. (we are 8 mo. now)

Yes, with my first it was very hard, and I wanted to quit many times in the first 6 weeks because it hurt so so much. Turned out she had a latch issue that no one (even the hospital LC) caught, and when I paid a separate LC $50 to see us, it was fixed immediately and nursing was pain-free within days.

Any amount is good.

Also, nursing releases pretty strong hormones; with my first two my brain's reaction to those hormones was to tense up instead of relax, or to resist them, so it made me resist nursing. When I learned to relax into the psychological effect of the hormones it was a lot easier.

My goal was always 1 year since I could remember (like, since high school, lol). Unfortunately, I only made it to 5mo with DD.

With DS I was too hard headed to even LET formula in my house, let alone bottles We're at 20mo and still going strong So I have surpassed my original goal. I refuse to give up before 2 years, and if he goes longer I'll let him. I can't see myself nursing a 3yo, but then again I said the same thing about 18mo olds before DS

My sister told me once that I said I hoped to make it to one year with my first. I don't remember saying it, but I can't imagine she made that up. I thought I always had the goal of going as long as we could (but never had a number/age in mind). She nursed until just after her second birthday, when I got preggo again. I actually planned a few months between weaning and getting preggo, but that didn't happen, lol.

Dd2, my goal was 2 years. When we struggled just after her first birthday, I was ready to throw in the towel. 6 weeks later, I'm sooooooo glad we didn't! It's getting better again and I can't imagine if we'd weaned. I'm so grateful she's still interested in nursing.

My goal was at least 1 year and next week we'll be at 2 years My 5 yr old nursed until 2 1/2 and would have kept on going if my milk hadn't dried up due to pregnancy. With her my goal was at least 6 months...she was my first so I had NO idea what to expect.

To make it until DS has had enough whenever that is. We're almost at 3 months and going strong.

Initially my minimum was 6 months, then changed to a year after we passed the 6 month mark. Personal goal of 2 years. We're at 15 months with a lot of bumps along the way but now we're going strong.

My goal with my first was 1 year. We made it 13 mos and 1 week before he self-weaned and my supply dried up. I am currently at 5 months with my second and have another goal of 1 year and after that we will see what she wants to do.

My goal with DS was 1 year & I "weaned" him on his third birthday. Basically we just said okay you're three now, big boy, no more nursing, etc. He asked once or twice & then was over it. He nursed through my pregnancy with DD1 & tandem nursed for over a year, but I kinda wish I would have let him wean completely on his own.

My goal with DD1 was 2 years, but I got pregnant when she was 19 months old & was extremely sick. My DH took care of the kids FT so between the separation almost all day & night & my sore nipples, inability to hold her for any length of time, etc., DD1 weaned around 21 months. Makes me so sad. I hoped she'd be interested in nursing again when DD2 arrived, but no.

So my goal with DD2 is 2 years again. I really hope we make it to that or beyond!

My goal is 2 years minimum and I am willing to go up to 4 if he doesn't wean himself by then. I hope to get pregnant again before he's 2 though so we'll see how that goes.
