Our family dog is only 9 weeks old so his problem isn't licking but biting. Not good. He has a chewing problem too. But the worst thing is the trash. I am constantly scolding both baby and mutt for digging in the trash.
The dog likes to sneak in the bathroom and eat used toilet paper.  The baby likes to sneak in the kitchen, dunk his toy of the moment in the garbage can, pull it out, & continue chewing on it. No advice other than just be patient and persistent. At least your dog is already housebroken right?
