momma! The first six weeks are the hardest but it really does get easier and much more enjoyable! There were days during the first six weeks that I would be crying in agony with DS nursing (his latch was horrible) and he would thrash and pulloff suddenly and he wanted to nurse every 30 min to an hour, it was so hard! But the thing that made it all seem to disappear was the day I was at a check up for him and myself and my doc (an LC!) suggested pumping and letting DH feed him and then his ped tried giving me a free thing of formula! When babies have latch problems a bottle isn't going to help! He is my first but I knew that much. So from that day forward the pain and suffering seemed to be much less and I knew I wasnt going to give up as give DS formula. DS eventually perfected his latch (around 5 weeks) and the pain stopped, well until teething started... DS turned one last week and we are still going strong you can do it!

Ps I plan on letting DS self wean.

Well I said upthread my goal was six weeks, and here we are at 2 months. My next goal is 3 months, ultimate goal is still when I go back to work just before a year. Not planning on cutting her off then, but I'd be ok if our nursing relationship doesn't survive my return to work as she'll be old enough to not need formula.

My goal is one year! We are at 7.5 months. We will easily make it and we will see from there.

I have so many goals for us but our long term goal is baby led weaning. That being said we are only 3 1/2 weeks in... My first goal was 2 weeks and my next goal is one month. For me I have to take it a few weeks at a time. Overall we are doing well no major issues but our biggest concern is keeping the ped. happy with weight gain.

My goal with DD1 was 2. I weaned her at 15 months though because I was pregnant and if hurt like crazy. My goal is 2 again with DD2 and we don't plan on any more children so I should be able to reach it.

My goal was a year~ I made it 27 months. You can do it Just keep trying all your options.

She turns 4 months on the 1st and we're still at it. I mostly like it now although I still have to convince myself its better than FF on occasion. I LOVE nursing my baby. I just wish I could do half and half sometimes.

My biggest struggle with it now is juggling weight loss with nursing. If I eat too well or exercise too much, my supply plummets. This is hard for me to come to terms with as I am very heavy and am mentally so ready to fix it. But I havent yet been able to be okay with not nursing just to lose weight.
