Wcrs help with a newborn?
I am dying to get my 8 day old in my wcrs! But I tried yesterday and I'm not getting it right. I'm trying to put her upright in it (sorry I don't know the names for the holds) but by the time I get her adjusted she ends up kind of sideways, more like a cradle hold. I don't think her head is supported well enough either and she grunts like she is uncomfortable. Fortunately the moby is working great for now, but I really want to get her in the ring sling!
Is there a good tutorial video somewhere? Or maybe someone can help me troubleshoot. Thanks!

*subbing*I am having this SAME issue. The Moby works great, but I feel like the RS would be more convenient if I could just get her in it properly...

Re: Wcrs help with a newborn?
Grunting is definitely a sign that she is uncomfortable or having trouble breathing. You want to make sure that no matter what position she is in in any carrier (or her car seat, bouncy, stroller, etc) that her chin is off of her chest so that her air way isn't being pinched.
that said, ring slings are great for newborns once you figure them out and generally much faster (and cooler!) than a Moby. I'm going to give you a few video links on getting your sling set up and getting baby in there properly ![]() Putting the sling on and getting it adjusted Tummy to Tummy with a newborn (legs in) More info on proper positioning A nice trick for getting their head properly supported And tummy to tummy with legs out Legs in or out is really a matter of what you and baby are most comfortable with. Some babywearing schools are currently teaching that babies should be legs out from birth. I say follow your baby's lead- some refuse to unscrunch those legs until they're a bit older, making legs out difficult. I did legs in until my baby was about 6 weeks or so. I hope that helps!!!
