Well, it is at a record high right now, but still going up. We haven't hit the top. And no, it isn't Glenn Beck. I don't think this week would have been a good week, but investing in gold is smart. My grandpa has made a TON buying gold vs. all of his friends who lost most of their retirement in stocks; he still has his.

DH says if you are selling it that cheap, he wants to buy it. He thinks it will go up at least 5 to 10 times the value now.

I'm not looking at gold as an investment, but to those who've got the money to buy it, more power to you. My issue was having no money and finding $500 in my jewelry box to put toward something I really want. Maybe I should have posted in the thrifty forum
