How do you make really great chocolate frosting?

I have only made a chocolate ganache, and it doesn't always come out great. I am looking for a buttercream chocolate frosting. I have confectioners sugar, butter, heavy cream, milk, cream cheese, chocolate chips, and cocoa. Anyone have a really tasty recipe?

Thanks!

Well, no responses before I needed to start it, so played internet roulette, and chose this one:

And I have to say it is quite delicious- the salt gives a little something extra.

I know this post is a couple of days old, but I thought I'd share anyway.

The chocolate frosting on the back of the Hershey's Cocoa is REALLY good. Actually, the chocolate cake is really good too. Let me see if they have it on their site. I'm sure they do.

The "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate frosting is under the directions for how to make the cake. You have to scroll down in that window to find it. It's really good.

Re: How do you make really great chocolate frosting?

This is from a good friend who is a cakemaker...I love it! If I have extra I stick it in a Ziploc and put it in the fridge, when I need to use it, I let it sit out till I can smoosh it around easily...

Super simple (and delicious!) buttercream recipe:
2 sticks unsalted butter - put these in mixer first, best using the blade attachment - whip to death, it will be very light in color & fluffy!
turn down mixer to low & add 2.5 cups confectioners' sugar - once it is all incorporated turn up the speed again & let it whip like crazy.
Add 1 tsp vanilla or whatever flavor extract you want to use (almond is more intense so use less of this)
stream in about 2 tbsp heavy cream & whip until you reach desired consistency. It should be light & fluffy but firm.
Now you can take it in batches & make the colors you'll need stirring in food coloring.

Re: How do you make really great chocolate frosting?

1/2 lb butter
1/2 package of cream cheese
1/2 cup of dutch process cocoa powder (this is KEY)
2 tbsp cream
1 tsp vanilla
enough icing sugar to reach desired consistency

The butter and cream cheese have to be at room temp. Blend them and whip the snot of them until light and fluffy. Add cream, vanilla and cocoa and whipp until smooth (pass cocoa through a fine mesh siv first). Add enough icing sugar to get the consistency you want and enjoy. I always get rave reviews when I make this.

Chocolate Frosting:
1 stick margarine (1/2 c.), softened
1/4 cup milk
1-2 tsp vanilla (depending on your taste)
3 tablespoons of cocoa
2-3 cups of powdered sugar

Mix all ingredients with a hand mixer until smooth. Add more powdered sugar or milk until you reach desired consistency
