soapy tasting milk

I recently discovered that my milk gets a soapy taste if it's kept in the fridge more than ~12 hrs -- so thawing frozen milk in the fridge, for example, doesn't work for me.

After some research I found out that it's due to excess lipase in my milk. There's lots of good information here:

I'm currently trying a few different things to ameliorate the problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience, and if so, what has worked for you.

Re: soapy tasting milk

Not sure, I remember DS would refuse milk that was yucky, but I just tossed the one he refused and moved on.

Good information though, thanks for sharing.

Re: soapy tasting milk

OK, after lots of experimentation it looks like my problem is a mild one. If I rinse all the pump parts and collection bottles in distilled water after washing, then the lipase doesn't get activated and the milk doesn't need to be scalded. Quickly thawing milk in warm water, rather than overnight in the fridge, also helps a lot.
