Is that bad?

German doctors tend to be haphazard about suggesting things, so I do not know if I should be concerned or pissed off. They do this all the time not just when I am pregnant.

She said something about the babies heart beat and that I need to get a special test done in another city. But when I pushed the issues she said its likely common in the second trimester and does not mean anything, well if its common why is my husband taking time off work and you sending us to another city

SO have you ever had a doctor say your baby had bradycardia what happened.

Ishe wrote a word before it when I put it into google translates as transient, transient bradycardia.

Do I read that correct as coming and going? Which is the normal. I ready only constant low heart rates are cause for concern.

SHe did not tell me the heart rate, so I do no t have that to share. I can ask dh to look in my mothert pass but I did not see anything that looked like baby heart rate

How far along are you? Did she just do a Doppler? Or did you have an NST?

I am 18 and a half weeks she did something with the abdominal ultrasound machine.

It switched from the normal view of the baby to a split screen half baby and half wavy lines.

I have no idea, but Katrina from my DD group (June) has twins that were born with that problem. Apparently they stop breathing suddenly (I remember her saying mostly when they eat?) She made it sound like it's something that can be controlled or will pass. I'm not sure, but maybe you could PM her. She's pretty busy with 2 little new ones still in the NICU but it's worth a try

Bradycardia, caused by apnea, is totally normal in preterm infants and they will grow out of it. Baby is not supposed to be breathing yet, technically and sometimes 'forget'. Babies in utero don't breath yet so the cause of the bradycardia wouldn't be the same.

I wish I had some more info/advice for you mama, keep us updated on the testing *hugs*

She said the baby, or you? I know that in adults bradycardia is a low heart rate? not sure how that would apply to a baby not born...was his heartrate low?

The babys heart was too slow.

We had a similar thing happen to us around 20 weeks. They sent us to a cardiologist. The top part of the Heart was beating 130 110 130 110 and the bottom part was beating at 65. It's called PVC or bygeminy. So not exactly the same but the cardiologist said the baby will grow out of it and it's totally fine.
