It's been over a month and Gino hasn't taken another step since lol! I'm beginning to wonder if he will EVER walk. I think he could if he wanted to. He walks now holding on to my one finger! He cruises on everything, the walls, the couch, and pushes a push car while walking behind it....Augh he's SO CLOSE and has been for a while now.

He will get there! It does sound like he is able, and just unwilling. I know that can be terribly frustrating for you but he will let go when he is ready. How about if he was holding on with one finger and you were a couple steps away and held up a favorite book/toy/snack? Would that make him forget and go for it? Worth a shot. If not, hang in there. Before long you won't remember what it was like when he didn't walk!

My mom says I was like that - could do it but didn't think I could. So one day instead of letting me hold onto her finger she held something in her hand ( I forget what exactly) and had me hold onto that. Then when I started walking she let go of the thing so only I had it and I didn't notice and kept going!

Been trying this...he's so in tune...he catches me every time...BUT yesterday he went from a table to a chair a step away!!

DFS was 18 months when he took his first steps. Now at 3, he is developmentally on target and about to exit PT.

Good luck mama! I hope your LO continues to progress and thrive! One day soon, he's going to take off running and surprise you!

UPDATE: Giovanni took his first stepS today. He took 3 steps in a row three times during pt today! He's coming along slowly

Yeah for you guys! Soon he will be off and running and you'll almost wish he was easier to keep up with!
