Shipping to a PO box and what is AE?

I just sold something on Spotts, first transaction on there. I go to print a shipping label, and the address has a PO Box with the state of "AE." I thought I read on here not to ship to a PO box and what the heck is AE? Is it like military or something.

Just a little nervous for this transaction because first off I haven't checked Spotts and secondly, I find the address obscure.

EDIT... just figured it out that it's army. Would it cost more to ship there than normal? Also, the address in PP is also unconfirmed.

It won't cost any more to ship than a regular domestic package, but if your recipient is overseas (like on a base or whatever), you might need a customs label on your package, depending on the weight/size of the package and the country to which it is going.

The address doesn't specify which country it is going to.

Apo ap is military but not sure what the rest of ur address is to tell. But I know a friend was a po box & ended with the first stuff but just cuz overseas & military base. U just have to fill out sheeet saying what it is. Its considered usa I think if a base the person lives on.

You need the customs form still like if you were to send a package to Canada declaring the content and value. Other than that like mentioned already, it ships as if it's within the US.

AE is for all Europe (Armed Forces Europe), AA for Americas, AP for Pacific. APO/FPO/DPO is basically the equivalent to that of a city name. APO is Army PO, FPO is Fleet PO, and DPO is for diplomatic office.
