any nurses or doctors? UPDATE!

update on page 2

I am probably taking my son in again for this but wanted anyone elses inputs or experiences...ok a week ago DS (2 yrs old) wouldnt sleep for two nights in a row complaining that his tummy hurt..all he would do is cry and roll around in bed..i consoled him, and did what i could and in the morning he seemed fine..the second night same thing only he vomited too. i took him to the doctor but because it was gone she was not concerned, said it could teething, gas or many minor things...a week went by and 2 nights ago he wouldnt sleep with a bad tummy ache again that went away in the morning....last night he didnt sleep a peep and vomited like 5 times...we all ate the same thing, and nothing has recently changed in his diet. since he has been little i have noticed food still whole and in tact in his diaper and sometimes his stool will be accompanied with what looks like a bunch of wet sand from the beach...could this all be related? i have no idea what to think...

Celiacs disease can cause grainy or sandy bowel movements. Sorry your little guy is going though this. Hope you can figure it out soon!!!!

thanks mamma! i have heard celiacs disease thrown around a bit too...i dont really know what that disease is and im afraid to google it! lol

(hugs)! I think it can be diagnosed with a blood test and treatment would be a gluten free diet. Just make an appointment and talk to your MD about it. Do some research before you go in, that always helps make sure the MD knows about the all the symptoms, especially the BM's. Ask for testing.

well we went to the doctors and he was completely baffled and said this was out of his realm so he referred us to a Pediatric GI doctor...which we cant get into for 2 weeks hopefully things will calm down untill then cause this mamma needs some sleep! 30 weeks pregnant and have had 3 hours sleep in the last 48 hours! waaaahhh

Have you thought of taking him to a naturopath? They'll sometimes do allergy testing and can maybe see you sooner. Just to get another perspective on things

My DD has Celiac and that came to mind given the symptoms. It's hard, but not horrible. Don't change anything in his diet until you get testing though because it can give you false negative.

good to know! we havent changed anything so far and last night there was no vomiting or tummy ache and he ate pizza for dinner it only randomly happens once a week...odd...hopefully nothing more will happen thats serious untill we see the GI doc!
