Do your kids' names have family meaning?

It seems I'm the odd one out, DS doesn't have a family name at all. He does have a very Irish name, though, and our Irish heritage has always been a very big part of our family. I say go for the name you guys love. That gies it special meaning enough in my book.

DS#1 is Andrew James after DH who is James Andrew. The Andrew is also for Andrezjewski, my MIL's maiden name.

DS#2 is John Robert (called Jack) for my FIL, GFIL, and Uncle who were all John (uncle was Jack as well, and he had passed before DS#2 was born) and Robert for my dad and DH's Uncle. We killed a lot of birds with that stone.

DD is Lillian Elizabeth. Lillian is the only name DH and I could agree on, but Elizabeth is my sister's middle name and someone in the family has had Elizabeth for generations.

We used family names for our son's first and middle names. His first name is from DH's side of the family (it was his grandpa's name, and then it's also the middle name of our nephew and DH's late brother, possibly some others?). We chose my uncle's name as his middle name, because we are both very close with him, and he doesn't have any of his own children. Him and my aunt are like a second set of parents to us, so we thought it would be nice to use his name somehow.

I'm pregnant with child #2, we don't have ANY first names we like that are family names, but the middle name will be a family name regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl. If it's a girl, she will have my middle name, which is also same middle name my mom, my grandma, and my MIL have. If it's a boy, he will either have my husband's middle name, or we will use my maternal grandfather's name.

Asher is my mom mom's maiden name, his middle name-James is my husband PaPaws name, he died when Jason was in 6th grade.
Levi has no "family" meaning, Joseph is my dad's brothers name he died right before Levi was born.

DD does, she was named after my grandmother. DS's names are just names we liked. No one had a family name we loved so we branched out, so to speak :-)

Yes, ds1 first name is what my sisters name would have been is she was a boy came from my step dads family, and ds2 middle name is of an uncle of DH's that died while I was pregnant.

My oldest son yes, His name is Christopher Edward. Christopher was my brother's name, he took his own life in 2009, Edward is my husband's middle name as well as my grandfathers.
My youngest son, His name is Owen Robert, Owen just because we liked it Robert, is my husband's name, my father's name and another one of my brothers name.

So far our children's entire names have family significance, and the plan is for each kid to have at least one family name.

We use family names for both first and middle names. It is very, very hard for me to "love" a name since I was a music teacher at a school with 500+ kids I saw per week.
