Is there anything I can take internally for this itching maddness to stop????? I know I can't have aloe with lanacaine, so I have it without. I wish so much I could take benedryl

Re: Pregnant, sunburned and itching!
Why can't you take benadryl? It's on my approved meds list and I took it two weeks ago for a pretty severe allergic reaction.
I have heard that regular Mayo is great on a sunburn and apple cider vinegar baths can take the sting out. Good luck.

Re: Pregnant, sunburned and itching!
benedryl is ok to take while pregnant, but it probably won't stop your itching. The itching from a sunburn is due to the dying skin from the burn and not from any sort of histamine reaction So I don't know that benedryl would really do anything for itching due to sunburn. A benedryl cream might, which is also ok while pg.

Re: Pregnant, sunburned and itching!
I thought benedryl was out - I always took it when I had a sunburn as a kid and it always stopped the itching.
I took some tylenol and an oatmeal bath. I tried an apple cider vinegar bath and as soon as I got out of the tub I was miserable. The oatmeal bath helped though. |

Aloe gel until the heat is out of it, then lotion. Lots & lots of lotion. If you have cocoa butter or something similar for your belly, slather it on.
