My DD is 20 months and does the same thing (doing it right now as I type in fact LOL). I assume it's probably something to do with thinking the other side has more and she's trying to get as much as quick as she can haha

My 14mo old is a switcher. He tends to do about 2-5mins on one and then wants to switch. I also do a 2 switch rule because I get easily annoyed
He can flip sides once, and back to the OB (original boob, lol) and that's it. If he comes off again, I tell him "no more nursing. all done!" and sign for all done. If he pouts about it and signs milk (which we *only* use for nursing) I'll put him back to the OB. I just can't tolerate the back and forth. It's uncomfortable when he's so large (27½+lbs and 34"). He also is a big grabber. He likes to grab my neck, ears, face, chest. We're a one boob house, though. He can't twiddle the other one - no thank you. LOL!
