Re: Please Help! Milk Won't Let Down
If she's less than a week old, your milk may not be fully in yet. Drink LOTS of water, rest, relax, and give it a little longer.

Re: Please Help! Milk Won't Let Down
I'm nursing my second, and never felt letdown. If your baby seems satisfied, is gaining weight, and producing enough wet and dirty diapers then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Relax, relax relax. Whether there is a problem or not, getting tensed about it won't help. Take a nice bath with the little one will do you some good either way.

:Yeahthat: I rarely feel let down either, but I know DS is getting milk. Do you see your DD swallowing? Also try massaging your breast (towards the nipple) with your open hand (palm or fingers) while nursing to help the milk ducts release.

Re: Please Help! Milk Won't Let Down
I have used heat pads from target. Try using pump a bit at first. My baby would bash my other side with foot & that helped or massage or nipple simulation.

Re: Please Help! Milk Won't Let Down
My breasts didn't change before and after feedings until I was a few weeks into breastfeeding. I still haven't felt the let down sensation, and I doubt that I ever will. When I tried expressing milk by hand to see if there was anything there, nothing would come out. LO was pooping and peeing OK so I just went with it. We are at 6 weeks now and I have finally gotten to the supple boob after feeding stage. I think that every woman's body is different and that it will probably work itself out.
