if one is sick and the other isn't, do you do anything to prevent spread of germs? Sticking to own sides isn't really an option as my non-sick baby boy is only 5 months and nursing much more frequently.

I never worried....bm has antibodies and antivirals in it...I would sometimes hands express a few drops and rub across nipple and areola, but that's the most I would do

ive never done anything. they are doing plenty of other things to share germs. sharing a boob isn't going to contribute enough to worry about it

Never worth the effort. Enough times one was sick and the other didn't get it. On the other hand, they always managed to share with me.

Thanks, hopefully we can avoid having both children sick, but I had a feeling that trying to wash up between nursings was kind of pointless.

Yeah, when the toddler coughs in the baby's face anyway, there isn't much point in disinfecting the nipples.
