It may not be as bad as it seems.. people tend to embellish things on FB. He may not be crying endlessly for 3 days straight, but just little moments here and there where she wants a break and is trying to "train" him to self soothe.
The point is, we just don't know. You see them several times a week, you will see if the baby looks happy and well adjusted or not, until you see evidence of a non-thriving baby, I wouldn't judge just yet.

The daycare comment, exactly why my kids do not attend daycare & why I would work 3rd & sleep in the evening if I could not stay home!

As for FB...I see all kinds of posts like this, bad parenting advice & unsafe practices. I'm finding it best to just ignore them.

I agree with this. My child may be screaming for 45 minutes straight, but that doesn't mean I'm not doing ANYTHING. Also, I always say things like "she never sleeps", but that's obviously not true. It just feels that way.

I'm sorry, but not everyone can be a martyr mommy and have a child hanging off them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'm glad some of you can handle it, but I know I couldn't.

I'd just leave it- or maybe suggest he's crying from being overly tired-earache or something? But I wear my 23lbr on my back and carry my 3 yr old... What I wouldn't give for a break. My brain is so foggy the other day I tripped and said "oops! Be careful!" only to realize 2 seconds later
I was the one who tripped and not the kiddo. Darned APing has me exhausted! But I know they need me, so I keep on.
If she's feeling as crazy as I am I could understand; but chances are she'll feel sorry/get tired of hearing him and put him on again.

Not me as much as his family. I backed it up, but I didn't just leave him in a room to cry. He just cries.

Like I said, it never totally worked, but it seemed to get a little better. For me anyway.

To the daycare commenters; who knows- I'm thinking this was a plan between provider and parents?? Maybe the parents liked her enough and trusted her enough to do this on as appropriate manner she could? I can't imagine doing this without parent's knowledge/suggestion/agreements. No day area

It was the parent's idea. Not mine. I agreed because I could understand what they were going through.

Honestly, he had TWO parents in the house, and a brother.... TWO parents couldn't make him stop crying. They tried everything. I tried everything. It was their last resort.

See? that's incredibly rude. Most really bad parenting issues happen when parents think that giving up sleep is better than using daycare. It's nice that you can stay home with your kids, but my daycare parents choose to be together as a family in the evenings and weekends.

If you really had to work a third shift and sleep for a few hours in the evening, I doubt it would work out as well as you think.
