What about doing them at night but having your DH help? That way you two get the time together to talk. I realize he works long hours, but if you are getting up at the same time he is and spending the day caring for the house and child, it's not like you aren't working the same long hours.

DH will help if I ask him too sometimes but otherwise he wants his time to wind down and check out craigslist for a new family vehicle for us or he works in the garden until dark.

It's gotten to where I either just let her cry at my feet so I can get a few dishes done at a time, or one of us takes her out and the other does dishes. So just sympathy here!
