Could Someone Please Explain What A Wrap Conversion Sling Is?

I am confused over what exactly a wrap conversion sling is.... Is this just a wrap that is turned into a sling? Is it something you can use as a wrap or a ring sling? Is it longer? I'm just confused over the difference between this and something marketed as just a ring sling. Thanks guys

The ring sling is made with a section of a woven wrap instead of other fabric.

Ok, so it's the fabric. I'm guessing the advantage is more support with that fabric with the ease of a ring sling then? Thanks so much. I was confused

^ Yes. So if you have a woven wrap you can send it in and get it made into a ring sling. Basically what they do is sew rings on and sometimes chop the ends off and hem if it's really long. Some can even add fringe to the tail. Sleeping Baby Productions is a good place for ths.

Yes, they're very supportive in general, although a lot depends on the wrap. The qualities of the wrap - think, thick, grippy, silky, etc - inform how the sling feels. So you open yourself up to all the fabric blends and characteristics of the wrap world, plus all the pretty colors and patterns!

WCRS also tend to be slightly wider than standard ring slings (again, depending on the wrap width) so often work really well for bigger babies and toddlers.

Some makers of WCRs are sleeping baby productions, comfy Joey, kalea baby. A lot of folks buy a wrap they like and have one of the above makers covert it, you can get two sling out of a longer wrap so sometime folks buy a wrap together and split it. Some wrap makers also offer their own readymade slings as well (girasol, didymos, natibaby, bbslen).
