Food sealer - What do you suggest?
What kind of vacuum sealer do you have? I have never had one do I don't really no what I'm looking for. I want something affordable but durable. It needs to keep food in the freezer for a while. It would be great if it were smaller since space in my kitchen is limited but I can make a bigger one work.
What do you suggest? Thank you! |

Re: Food sealer - What do you suggest?
FIRST: IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW...FOODSAVER IS HAVING A 50% OFF SALE COUPON CODE IS: R2FEAAA
SECOND: I HAVE THE V3840 AND LOVE IT! I got the marinating containers but don't use them much (i thought we would though). I like that it is an upright, good looking so I can leave it out on counter, and cleans easy! I had a seal a meal that was a gift years ago, but if I was sealing a bunch (20+ chicken breasts, etc.) it would need breaks and that is frustrating when you are doing tedious sealing...LOL! Here is a link to mine: http://www.foodsaver.com/product.aspx?pid=7190&kwid=fcae7691c36642c0837a5b8 31340c9b2&gclid=CJuSkuCN6bACFc6R7QodbHLT1Q I saw that some people were having issues entering the code, someone said to put it in the edit field...I didn't make a purchase since I have one so I can't help you here.

I have an old FoodSaver model that is no longer available. It was a wedding gift almost 10 years ago and still going strong. If this one ever dies, we would buy another in a heartbeat.
I love prepping food for the freezer knowing I don't have to deal with freezer burn. We used to put lettuce and berries in their fridge containers but quit doing that after we had some sealing issues with the canisters. We also have the jar sealer attachment for wide mouth canning jars. That works great for freezing soups or storing sugar/flour in small batches for the pantry. Sent from my iPod touch using DS Forum

Re: Food sealer - What do you suggest?
I just use Ziploc. It's a little hand pump and they have vacuum bags. You couldn't use them if you wanted to seal something full of fluid like a meat in marinade, but the results I've had for storing meat and things have been amazing.

Thanks! I went ahead and bought the ziploc one for a quick fix but I'm going to look into the foodsaver. Thanks again!
