Folding seat or potty ring for on-the-go?
My DS is finally using his little potty and is in undies most of the time (except sleeping and going out when he's in trainers)
![]() He really wants to wear undies while we're out and about, but he's terrified of the big potty at home, so I'm guessing public potties will be a no-go for a while yet We have the little Ikea potty that we'll start bringing in the car with us, but I'd like to get him used to the big potty at home with something portable that we'll be able to bring with us when he's ready for public pottying. For those who have been there already, do you all like the folding seats or just a regular potty ring? The folding seat would be WAY easier to pack in a bag, but I've heard mixed reviews about how well they work in public. Would a regular potty ring work better? Thanks!!

Re: Folding seat or potty ring for on-the-go?
We didn't like the folding one we had. It was flimsy, didn't fit on toilets well so it would slide, and I was afraid it would pinch. Maybe just stick w/ the tiny potty until he can go standing. I am public bathroom phobic though

We have this one and DS seemed to like it well enough. Apologizing in advance for iPhone typos/autocorrect

Re: Folding seat or potty ring for on-the-go?
Thanks!! I've been carrying around the giant Spiderman potty ring this week because DS chose that one at the store
That thing is a beast though! It won't fit into the diaper bag, so we carry it in a huge all-day sized wetbag. But at least he's using it. I have a Primo folding seat on the way via a trade, so I hope we can transition him onto that sooner than later!

Re: Folding seat or potty ring for on-the-go?
I vote for skipping them both. Both my boys wanted to pee standing up, so I let them do it when we were out (holding them up or letting them stand on top of my feet so they'd be tall enough). They were so excited about peeing "like Daddy", they would beg to go potty. And we didn't have to lug around a bulky seat that might or might not fit the toilet.

I bring the potty ring in the bag. Yeah... it's bulky but I prefer him using that to touching a public toilet.
My husband isn't home often and when he's home, he usually sits to pee because I can't stand the pee behind the seat thing.
