fb xs or bg newborns
First off I'll start of saying, I have had really big babies 9.5,8.15,8.6 and 10.10! I only cloth diapered my last 10.10 baby from birth. I had some xs bg but he outgrew the width really fast, I didn't try the fuzzibunz xs though and wondering if I would get more use out of the fbs. I am due in nov. I really like the velcro on the bg but really like that the fb have a pocket for more customizable stuffing. Even my 10.10 guy didn't fit into onsize diapers for 3 or 4 weeks very well and I am not expecting that large of a baby this time (I hope) I don't like huge diapers on nbs so I would like to get some nb diapers.

Yes, you'll definitely get more use out of them. My babies are only 8-9'ish pounds at birth, but they put on weight really quickly. They outgrew the BG in no time, but the FB lasted much, much longer.

Re: fb xs or bg newborns
We outgrew the BG first, but the FB only lasted a few weeks more. With your history of big babies, I'd probably do a mini one-size, like Thirsties (you can do a pocket or an AIO, and choose aplix or snaps), Blueberry, Tiny Tush, or Happy Heinys. Or else I'd probably do small FB instead of XS.
My LO is just shy of 4 months, probably 13 pounds so not a big baby, and she outgrew both FB and BG long ago (BG was at 9 weeks, I think, when she was 10 or 11 pounds). She still fits well in her mini one-size diapers. In her case, she'll outgrow the rise before she outgrows the waist.

Re: fb xs or bg newborns
I have big babies as well. I just got 2 xs fb and they look tiny. I got a snap and a aplix from kellycloset. The are the only ones with the aplix. I am going to use flats and covers until dd fits into a regular size os. Good luck!

I had a normal 7.13 lb baby last time, and the FBs definitely did fit a little longer than the BGs. I just hated stuffing them! The PUL is so sticky, and that little pocket opening is so freaking small! Argh! Drove me crazy.

Re: fb xs or bg newborns
My last 2 boys were just under 10 lbs each. I CD'd our youngest from day 1.
Two thoughts: You might see if you can find some BG AIO's size small. We bought 10 of them just as they were being discontinued and they were AWESOME! The fit great as soon as the cord fell off and continued to fit for at least 2 months. I loved loved loved those dipes. If you could find some on here or Hyena cart, they would probably be in pretty good condition since babies aren't in that size for long. Plus they have the pocket to add absorbency if needed. Tot Bots makes a Tiny Fit diaper that says it goes up to 14 or 15 lbs. I'm definitely going to be giving those a whirl if/when we get pregnant again. ETA - Please excuse my total disregard for the questions you actually asked.

![]() ditto that. I got simplex nb's. Cute prints and cord snap down, goes to 14-16 lbs. A bit more, but I figured they were worth it with the added time baby will be able to wear them. They get rave reviews, as well. |
