I like having a mix. I have 2 dozen pockets that I really do love. I also have 2 dozen prefolds in each size and a dozen flats. I prefer pad folding with those. I also just tried fittest for nights, which I love but wouldn't want to use them during the day unless we were going coverless. I don't mind stuffing pockets, but sometimes I just like having natural fibers. From what you are keeping I think you will be ok. You are keeping enough so that you could do a day in fitteds or flats but still have enough pockets to use those quite a bit too. I think you have a good plan. And you have to keep in kind that things will change as baby gets older too. You may like different things at different times.

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
I've tried almost everything out there, and over 4 1/2 years of CDing I always gravitate back to my pockets, love them, sized ones best then some one-size.

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
DS1 had an entire stash of M (old style fuzzibuz) from about 2 months to 1 year. It was a great system! He never had rashes and we never had stink issues. DS2 could not tolerate pul. I didn't figure this out until he was 8 months old.
. If it works for you, I say go for it!

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
I don't mind stuffing pockets if it is a smaller stash size, but out of my 5 kids only 2 of them have consistently been able to wear stay dry fabrics. I would highly suggest trying a few out before you buy a whole bunch just in case your child reacts. It is not that uncommon of an issue these days.

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
The majority of my stash is pockets, but I have some fitteds for nights and naps. I also have some AIO diapers for babysitters but that's not entirely necessary. I love my pocket diapers.... stuffing can be annoying at times but I usually do it while she naps. If you are worried about stink you could always replace the mf inserts with bamboo or hemp. I use Alva bamboo inserts and they are super cheap, esp if you get them thru a co op

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
We hated pockets. DS's poop would get all over the insert opening and we'd have to either reach through the poop to get the insert out, or I'd have to do an extra load of laundry after washing them to get the insert clean. We prefer diapers that can just be tossed in the diaper pail and then in the wash after they're soiled.

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
[QUOTE=little hoot;15319108]Although my BG pockets were the last diaper I grabbed when I first started CD, they are now my favorite. QUOTE]
+1 I am slowly (ie, under DH's radar) switching from a BGE stash to a 4.0 stash ![]() I originally discounted pockets b/c I assumed that I would NEVER have time or desire to stuff. Sounds reasonable, but 1.5 years later I LOVE diaper laundry and have no problem stuffing in the evenings while watching TV or chatting with DH! They are so much easier to keep clean, dry faster, and you can customize what you stuff with. Mostly stuffing with Thirsties hemp prefolds and flannel receiving blanket flats. Maybe it's just an excuse to buy more hemp prefolds

Re: Will I regret going to a mostly pocket stash?
I use mostly snap pockets. I love them. All mine have microfiber inserts/ fleece inners. I never have leaks at night (one insert only) but my dd get changed during the night. I have no stains on the inside of any of these diapers! (except one that DH used diaper cream and didn't use a liner! It is just a shadow stain.) The only signs of wear after 9 months or so of regular use is the inner linings on some are pilly. One size fits 10lbs to about 33 lbs.
We also have about 16 Kushies AIO's. They are velcro, cotton inners, and very decently priced. (About $10 each new) They stain easily. Kushies also tend to get holes over time. They are pin holes at the top near waist and near velcro tabs but do not cause leaks or effect function. They also get pin holes near the leg elastic but I have not seen any leaks or problems from the holes. We rarely use these. I got them for DH as he wanted Velcro but he now loves the snap pockets. We have the small one size that fits 10 lbs to 22lbs. (DD is 11 months and about to outgrow them) I only mentioned the Kushies as a economical alternative to the pockets and have cotton inners. I have a couple econobum prefolds (I love these) to sit on for diaper free time. (or I just take her outside and let her sit on a blanket that I wash later. )
