Re: Dollar Tree Pregnancy Test - False Pos./Evap Line?

Congrats mama! I did a dollar store test 16dpo and it took about 3 minutes for the line to really show up but it was pretty well there for me. To make sure I wasn't just seeing an evap line, I held it out an arms length away and looked for color. It was there. I took another one 2 days later at 18dpo and it came in quicker then. I was doing BBT charting at the time so I had temperatures to back it up. I usually end up spotting 3-5 days before my period is due and that never showed up so I was pretty sure I was pregnant long before I took the test.

Love dollar store tests though! I paid $2 to confirm this pregnancy rather than the $16 the month before to prove that I wasn't!

Re: Dollar Tree Pregnancy Test - False Pos./Evap Line?

Hey gurl, I found out I was pregnant father's day with an "Answer" test and then the digital test. I took a test everyday from that day on and I have like a million tests now. They all were positive. There are two types of dollar test, the ones you have posted and the purple ones. I have only gotten a positive once with the kind you have posted. My pee won't pick up the hormone on them for some reason. I hate that kind. I guess it's because I'm only four weeks. I have only gotten two negatives with the purple kind, though it was at night and I got a positive on them the next day. I ALWAYS get a positive with the good brands though and I have my first prenatal Monday.

Congrats and glad to see you got your answer! I was just going to say that I saw the line easily on the dollar tree tests. I love those tests, I think they show up so early. They do take forever for the lines to darken up in my opinion, but they seem to show early bfp's. Congrats again!

Re: Dollar Tree Pregnancy Test - False Pos./Evap Line?

First of all.. congrats!

Second of all, I TOTALLY get that you are happy but worried. I have three little boys. I wanted another baby, but DH said we were done.. and financially it was a bad time anyway. Well, God had other ideas and now I am almost 28 weeks along with my DD.

And yes, I saw the positive line on your DT test too!

It'll work out!

As far as being worried about your deductible, apply for Pregnancy Medicaid. You might qualify even though you already have private insurance. I qualified for it (even though I have insurance through DH's job), and it's going to cover my co-pays and my deductibles, as well as pregnancy related prescriptions. So... that might help you out.

Congrats. And remember .... God doesn't make mistakes. It'll all work out.

God bless!
