Tell me about BFing with AF

Think I might be getting AF. I'm super sensitive when she nurses and feel really weird. I'm 8 months pp. How did you feel when you got AF back? Did baby act any different? (from the hormone change) TIA

Mine returned around 12 months, and I didn't really notice any difference. I think PMS moodiness may have made me a bit more irritable and less patient with long nursing sessions, but it passed. My baby did not seem any different, and I didn't feel any different physically.

I noticed a major drop in my milk supply. I got AF back at 6 months pp and now at 8.5 months i am having to supplement with formula. despite my best efforts,I do not produce enough milk anymore and my ds was a crying mess for a while before i figured out what was going on.

Ds didnt like the taste of my milk a few days before af would come. He got used to it after a couple cycles though.

My babe was 15 months when I got mine back and it didn't seem to bother her at all, or me.

My supply dipped before Af every time and we just nursed more for a few days to cope with it. It was just like having a growth spurt nursing marathon every month. She fully weaned at 19 months and AF came back at 4 months.

I didn't experience a change in supply. I did however notice my sex drive came back full force and I'm just wishing AF would come back already this time around for that reason!

I haven't noticed any change in supply or DS's reaction to my milk. I am a lot more sensitive for a day or two each month. That is about the only change I have seen.

All of a sudden, nursing was really painful for me and I think my supply must have been low too, because ds wanted to nurse more frequently. The pain went away around day 2 of the period though. I was crabby and had my usual pre-period brain fog so I knew it was coming up.

My already low supply tanked, and the twins started yanking hard on my nipples like they were trying to get more. We weaned about 6 wks later. It wasn't worth that misery for all is us for the little milk they were getting.
