Ew, sorry! My MIL loves to bring up the fact that that we weren't married when our first was conceived like it makes any difference at all. I just want to scream when she goes there because A) my husband was nearly 30 at the time and B) It's not the 1950's and people don't care about that crap anymore. When I told my mom I was pregnant her response was "oh...again?". What!? I have one child biologically. I'm hardly breaking down social barriers here by having a second kid.

That's exactly how my dad was when we told him the 1st time with DS "well, shouldnt you be married? how did this happen? no birth control?" so annoying. i think this second time around he'll just act like it's no big deal like "oh, well. here we go again." (hopefully) plus we're getting married in August.

I feel better after venting to you all about my MIL. I knew she would make some kind of comment that would make me mad so I am so happy we told them before they made the trip out to visit. She always says things when we tell her we are having another baby the crazy thing is she is 1 of 8 kids. You would think it wouldn't phase her but some how she is shocked? At least my Mom was so excited, she always is. Having babies is exciting. I just wish all parents reacted the same. At least DH puts her in her place. When she asked if it was planned he said does it matter, and when she asked how many we are going to have he said I dunno 9. LOVE him!

We told our family this weekend. They were all excited and they haven't stopped trying to name the baby since. Of course they come up with some strange names so mostly we just nod and smile.

lol, that's awesome about your husband! My mom would have been over the moon, she would have bawled her eyes out. I'm so glad I was able to at least tell her about one pregnancy and see her reaction. My MIL didn't even say congrats. My family was all super happy for us though. My husband comes from a family of 7 and only one of his siblings has even mentioned the pregnancy or said congrats. Whatever. I was the one that told my MIL and I did not expect the bored reaction I got from her at all. Knowing how much my family loves babies and how excited we all get that's what I expect from everyone!

He's taking me out tonight for my birthday (which was Sat). We're either going to see the Avengers (if it's still in theater anywhere) or Snow White & the Huntsman. Anyone see either of those yet??

DH saw the Avengers with friends and loved it. We saw Snow White together and it was good too. Can't go wrong with either.

Prayers for your DD. I work with a few students with SPD.

I agree, I love his responses Glad you got to share at least one experience of this with your mother and hugs while you are still missing her

All of my family is really excited for us and all our friends as well. My husband's sister though heard from my MIL but I still wanted to text to let her know myself that we are expecting. Anyways, she said, "yeah mom told me." I didn't know what to say to that so didn't text back. Then about an hour later she texts again saying, "I can't have any more." I mean REALLY! I truly am sorry that she feels a loss from not being able to have any more and realize that must be really tough to have that option taken from you (although there are many circumstances which I will not go into why they really shouldn't have any more), but can you at least fake a congratulations
