disintegrating bamboo inserts? HELP!!

So I have these Softbums bamboo inserts but the underside is just breaking apart and disintegrating. I was in my front loader only with other CDs and use ONLY Rockin Green. Hang dry. What on earth is happening to them? I will put them in and they come out with the backing completely shredded. Some are new some are bought used but all are disintegrating. I can't figure out what on earth is happening! I occasionally do a stripping by filling my bathtub with hot hot water and use a tiny bit of Dawn, soak then rinse in the washer. I never dry these insert in the dryer.
Can anybody help with this?
I really wanted to save all my Softbums for baby #2 but it doesn't even look like these will last thru #1!

Is the aplix tearing at them? How often are you washing them? Bleach? Anything sharp in the machine?

Maybe it's the Rockin Green. Another detergent perhaps?

No bc I started washing the shells separate a while back when it started. Nothing sharp. Never bleach! I was like once every 3 days and even tried daily but no difference nor with once a week. I tried a new detergent but no change!

Aw. I'm sorry. That stinks. My friend's cotton wipes did that and she had to toss them and make new ones. Natural fabrics break down over time.

This is what I'm wondering too. Ours still look great after a year and a half but they're used in a really big rotation. Are you washing on the sanitary cycle? Sorry they're falling apart.

I've heard of this happening to some people who use RnG. My personal opinion is that not getting diapers/inserts fully clean every time is harder on them than anything else. I use Tide, bleach and a TL and all my natural fibers look fine after years of rotation.

They're about 16m old. I don't have a sanitize cycle on my washing machine so I'm not using that. I'm so upset! The top is a bamboo velour and fine. The bottom is a regular bamboo regular knit and it's just tearing apart. I guess I'll try another soap. But can soap actually do this to fabric? Well I guess it's worth a try...
