Need sponge recommendations
I'm trying to find a natural solution for my cycle. I don't like the flowing feeling so I don't want to use just cloth pads. I used a menstrual cup this cycle and now I think I have a yeast infection. I'm prone to them so I don't know if it's the cup or not. I'm wondering if a sponge would be better but know nothing about them. I'd love any advice anyone can give.

Re: Need sponge recommendations
Hm, I would think the best thing to use if you are prone to yeast infections would be a cup or cloth pads. I could be wrong though and I haven't done any research on it, just going by personal experience. I used to get them until I stopped using tampons and started using cloth pads about 4 years ago. I have not had one since then. A couple of years ago I started using a cup. Still no problems. I have tried sponges and they didn't aggravate anything but they do absorb and because of that I'd think the cup would be better. I think the brand of sponges I have is Sea Pearls. Try those but don't give up on the cup. It could just be coincidence. Boil it before you use it again.

The Diva Cup can irritate your area, especially if it's not seated just right or the stem is too long for you. Trimming the stem, washing it very thoroughly multiple times a day, and sterilizing it between cycles will help.

Re: Need sponge recommendations
Thanks for the ideas. It could just be a coincidence. How should I care for my cloth pads with a yeast infection? Hot washes?
