Please pray over adoption??

I heard yesterday that a friend of a friend is giving up her baby boy. She is due in September and has tested positive for Downs. When I heard this, something in my heart said to find out more so I said I was interested and she hooked me up with the name of the adoption agency. I spoke to the lady this morning and I dont know how to proceed.
What I know:
They say he has Downs and hydrocephaly but otherwise in good health.
Mother is 17, lives out of town, and seeing a high risk OB...will deliver in my town, which has a Level 4 NICU.
They say from start to finish, it will cost around 8k.
We have not even started paperwork for the agency.......so we are a little behind IF we choose to pursue the adoption.
They said we would have to do all the paperwork and homestudy etc, but she still might not even choose us.

I am trying to be at peace with leaving it in God's hands. If it is meant to be, it will happen, right??

Please pray that everything goes well for this baby and mama and that they are both as healthy as can be, and for mama especially. This must be soooo hard on her.
Please also pray for me and my family, and that God's will be done.

This is not easy, but just wait on the Lord and watch for him to open doors for you A friend of mine has been through adoption and is sort of a " coach" to others going thru it. I should have her contact you. She is on DS. I will have her look up the thread. Prayers for God to give wisdom, grace and guidance. He loves this baby....and will provide for you and for it if this is his will
