Re: Does this rash look like a staph infection?
Staph boils PUS...the pus is what causes them to spread. They come to a head and then pus. They are also insanely itchy.

Re: Does this rash look like a staph infection?
I've had MRSA, and it presented differently in every location. Sometimes, it was like a large pimple, sometimes it made blistery holes and my doctors thought it was viral until they cultured it, and another time it just turned a scrape very red and I had the faintest pink streak on the skin next to it. I'd definitely get it checked out by a doctor so you can know for sure.

Re: Does this rash look like a staph infection?
My DS has had 2 bouts of diaper rash ever and they both looked exactly like that. I wasn't sure if it was yeast or not so I went ahead and got a cloth diaper safe rash cream formulated for yeast and slathered him up on the rashy area really well at each diaper change, I never used sposies though, just the cream and made sure to clean the area well at each change too. It took a while to clear up, but once I started using the cream it only got better (and again, still not sure if it was because it was a yeast rash, or just because the cream had good stuff in it for his skin and kept the rashy area protected).
I do have to say at least one of the times (I can't remember for sure with the other) I was in the midst of having trouble with getting my diapers clean enough so the other thing I did was strip my dipes really well and I also changed up my diaper wash routine to what I'm doing now. I'm sure that fixing the diaper problem was also important to getting the rash cleared up in our case at least. GL!
